Why does the California legislature propose so quite a few regulations that make no economic perception? (“California’s French Workweek,” Review & Outlook, April 16). Possibly because a majority of our representatives have in no way operate a enterprise? Assemblywoman

Cristina Garcia,

who is proposing the 32-hour workweek, was an activist before using business office. Out of 58 Democrats in the California Assembly, at minimum a dozen have a related background. I uncovered only four Democrats who ran corporations in advance of getting workplace. Attorneys, academics and federal government directors dominate the rest.

Our local paper invited two columnists to existing arguments for and from the workweek proposal. The one who argued in opposition to it, to my surprise, is the most liberal columnist. He expended a year functioning a small business.

California will keep on to push enterprises to other states until eventually we switch the utopian idealists in the state legislature with people today who fully grasp economics and what drives work opportunities and larger tax revenues.
